Federal Shutdown Averted (For Now); Government to Remain Open Until November 17
A partial government shutdown is still a possibility and would impact government database availability for applicant screening services.
U.S. government funding is now scheduled to expire at 11:59 p.m. on November 17, 2023. While essential services will continue operating during a potential shutdown, numerous services will be affected. Various screening services commonly used by employers may be unavailable during this time, including:
- E-Verify;
- Federal Court Searches and OIG Sanctions; and
- Content-Based Social Security Verification.
For more information regarding the specifics of these possible disruptions, please see our previously posted article.
This is an evolving situation that Truescreen is monitoring and we will continue to inform our clients of updates as they become available.
